Privacy Policy

EcomIndex ("we", "us") is an assumed business name of Signal Out Labs LLC, an Oregon limited liability company, 5441 S Macadam Ave #6867, Portland, OR 97239. This policy explains what we collect when you visit ecomindex.ai, buy an AI Shelf Report or work with us on a monthly plan, and what we do with it. Questions: hello@ecomindex.ai.

What we collect

  • Order details. Your name, email address, the store URL and the competitors you enter at checkout, and which of our payment links you used. Stripe processes your payment; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Public information about your store and the competitors you name. We read public pages (your homepage, product and collection pages) to understand your brand and category and to write the buyer questions for your report.
  • AI answers. We ask AI services buyer questions about your category and store the answers, the sources they cite and when they were asked. These answers are about brands, including yours and your competitors'.
  • Monthly-plan details. If you work with us monthly, the access you grant to your store (a limited staff account), the content we draft for your approval, and a log of the changes and outreach we make for you.
  • Site usage. Basic, privacy-friendly analytics about visits to our site through Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

How we use it

  • To produce and deliver your report and any monthly work, and to send the emails that go with them (delivery, receipts, support).
  • To check our own accuracy: we label a small sample of the AI answers from paid reports by hand and use them to test the software that reads those answers. These labels are about brands named in AI answers, not about you personally.
  • To bill you and keep the records the law requires.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run EcomIndex, each under its own terms:

  • Stripe: payments.
  • Supabase: database hosting.
  • Vercel: website hosting.
  • Resend: email delivery.
  • OpenAI, Perplexity and Anthropic: we send them buyer questions that name your brand, your category and your competitors, and receive their answers. We do not send them your email address or payment details.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your report lives at a private, unguessable link that is not listed or indexed by search engines. Anyone you share the link with can open it, so share it with care. Ask us and we will replace the link.

How long we keep it

Reports and AI answers are kept for 24 months so we can compare later runs, then deleted. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your data sooner; we will, except for records we must keep by law.

Your choices and rights

Email hello@ecomindex.ai to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have further rights, such as to object to certain uses or to complain to a regulator. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections and private storage. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

Changes

We will post any changes here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will email customers before it takes effect.
